Resources

Multi-sector

The resources in this Section focus on two or more social sectors more or less equally. Some of these resources analyze particular systems, such as the economic-political system. Though some authors and activists call these systems “the system” and describe their efforts as “systemic reform,” they exclude key elements of our dominant social system — the System — that are discussed in other Sections. They don’t address society as a whole and how it is a single self-perpetuating social system. And they don’t reflect on how individuals help to reinforce the System — a reality that calls for mutual support for compassionate self-improvement aimed at undoing the System’s conditioning as much as possible.

Nevertheless, these multi-sector resources present valuable information and proposals for reform. In combination with reforms in the other sectors, all headed in the same direction — nurturing a compassionate society dedicated to humanity, the environment, and life itself — these reforms can build on the positive qualities of our society, correct the negative qualities, and contribute to holistic and systemic transformation.
